Procedure in Details (How to cook brown rice with chickpeas and vegetables?):
Step 1: Preparation
1. Clean and soak 1 cup chickpeas for 7-8 hours
2. pressure cook chickpeas for 2 whistles with 1 tsp salt and water
3. Open the cooker when pressure goes down on it own
4. Drain the water
5. Prepare 1 cup brown rice (pressure cook for 2 whistles with 1 and a quarter cup of water)
6. Cut carrot, beans, capsicum
Step 2: Start cooking
1. Heat 1 tablespoon ghee
2. 1 bay leaf and saute for 15-20 seconds
3. add 1 medium sized finely chopped onion and saute until onion turns translucent
4. add 1 tsp finely chopped ginger
5. 2-3 chopped green chillies
6. saute for 30-40 seconds
9. add carrot and saute for a minute
10. Add beans and boiled chickpeas
11. Add 1 tsp turmeric powder
12. Add salt to taste (Himalayan rock salt if available)
13. Add 1/2 cup of water
14. cover and cook for 5 mins on low flame
15. open the lid and add capsicum
16. add brown rice and saute for 3-4 mins on medium flame with frequent stirring
17. Healthy rice bowl is ready to serve
