In this sweet and savoury episode, we cover three must-visit Old Delhi favourites. Our first stop is at Hazari lal Jain Khurchan Wale where we taste the pure dairy goodness of a traditional reduced milk dessert and some more. This is followed by a piquant introduction to Old Delhi’s famous Lotan Chole Kulche. This is perhaps the spiciest chole that I have tasted, and the reason, I am told, for its popularity especially in Delhi’s nippy winters. Our last halt, Padam Chaat comes as a wonderful respite for its tantalizing chaats that work marvelously well to tease our taste buds with a broad array of textures and delicate flavours.
